Big Shot Box

Using the Big Shot Box #2 Die, I made this box. This is another project my club did this month as well as my workshops. It went over really well with everyone. It is so simple to make with the Die and you only glue one tab. The rest is just folded. We decorated the front a little with a flower and punches and then wrapped some ribbon around the whole thing. This is great for chocolate, money, gift cards or small gifts. You can give it as a closed box or keep it open and give it that way. This would be a great shower or party favor.

Watercolor 24-7

This is a card I am doing at workshops this month. I love how beautiful and simplistic this card turned out to be. One of my favortie things is to watercolor with the Aqua Painter because it makes me feel like and artist. It always turns out nice. I used the flowers from the Friends 24-7 stamp set in Basic Brown on Very Vanilla Cardstock. In the layers, I used Chocolate Chip and Rose Red DSP. I stamped the saying in Always Artichoke on the bottom. To add a little extra, I added Vintage brads.
TIP: To shade around the flower, I used Going Gray very lightly.

Matchbox Die-Celebrate

Here is another Big Shot project. We had a group meeting and I got to play with the new Matchbox Die from the Occasions Mini Catalog along with its matching Matchbox Messages stamp set. It turned out so cute! This box can fit 3 chapsticks, money, candy etc. I used Real Red cardstock and Pink Flamingo DSP. I found the pattern for this "card box" in my files and never tried it. This was my first attempt.

Friends 24-7 in Not Quite Navy

I just got this new stamp set, Friends 24-7 and I love it. I also got to play with my Scallop Circle #2 for the Big Shot as well as the circle cutter. I embossed the DSP with Stampin' Up! Backgrounds 1 texture plates and then sanded over top to make it look more weathered since the DSP is not died all the way through like the cardstock.

Petal Pizzazz Color Throwdown #39

We have family in town for the weekend. My son is turning 1! My baby is not a baby anymore. The weekend posts will be quick and without supplies listed. If you want to know what was used, please e-mail me. I will try to update these posts with supplies later next week but I am not making any promises. Enjoy! This card was fun to make. I like these colors and would not normally stamp with them together. I decided to go very simple for this one.

Decor Elements on Glass

This is a project ladies got to make at my workshop this week. Stampin' Up! has come out with Decor Elements (see catalog on right side of blog) to add something special to a wall, picture frame, canvas or in this case, glass as well as many other things. This was my first project using Decor Elements and I was surprised at how easy it really is. As long as you follow directions it was a piece of cake. This is a large candle holder that I got at the Dollar Store. I added the Chocolate Decor Element flower and some ribbon around the top. For a tag, I used the Oval All stamp set and the Oval Scallop Punch. Both of these items are from the Occasions Mini Catalog (see link to the right). This can be used for candy, a candle, pen/pencil holder, etc. The possibilities are endless.

Mother's Day Club Card

Believe it or not, Mother's Day is coming very quickly. This is a card my Stamp Club made this month. We used the Manhattan Flower Impressions Die for the background and used the Basic Brown stamp pad. The flower was water colored with blender pens and Stampin' Pastels. If you don't have many ink pad colors, having the pastels gives you so many options at a very affordable price. The sentiment was punched out with the Wide Oval punch and layered on Blush Blossom punched out with the Scallop Circle punch. Make sure you take the time out of your busy schedule to let your mother's know how much they mean to you.

Urban Butterfly

This is sketch #26 for Utah Divas International. I have not done these sketches before but this one spoke to me. I have been seeing so much done with layered ribbon. This was the perfect opportunity for me to try it myself. I really love the colors and how the butterfly turned out. I stamped the butterfly then used my hobby blade to cut around the wings so they are 3-dimensional. I made my card a note card but there is room to add a sentiment on the bottom right hand corner.

Lovely Labels in Pink

I was playing with my Lovely Labels stamp set. I also used the Pretty Petals background stamp for this card. I added just a little embellishment when I punched small holes into my scallop edge as well as my scallop circle with my 1/16" circle punch. I layered with Pretty in Pink and Basic Black and added a little pop with my Black Gingham ribbon.

Top Note Bag

I have been wanting to try my hand at this Top Note Die Bag that I have seen everywhere. I am so pleased with how this turned out. This was one of the projects my Stamp Club did this month. It is a quick and easy way to give a gift. You do need small bags that I cut off at 3" in height. I used small white gift bags that I got at my local craft store. It was still slightly too big but the bag was sturdier than a small paper bag would have been. It worked for us! I think it is pretty self explanatory but e-mail me if you have any questions. I cut 2 Top Note Die pieces out of So Saffron. I cut one out of Washington Apple DSP and then cut it in half. I can't wait to give this to someone.

Big Shot and Fabric

So here is my daughter being my model. I need to teach her to stand still and look at the camera when I am trying to take a picture. My upline, Rene, and I played with the Scallop Circle #2 Die for the Big Shot to make the blue flower. We ironed on the sticking transfer and then she sewed around it. We used the Leaves #2 Die for the leaves. My daughter loves this shirt and was so excited that Mommy had made it for her. It really was easy. Next time, instead of sewing around all the scallops, I would probably use the fabric paint and go around it. We finished the shirt off with a Stampin' Up! clear button and some retired blue ribbon. I will definitely use fabric again. It went through the Big Shot so easily and I could not believe how quick it was.

Color Throwdown #38

I know you are probably thinking I don't own any other stamp sets but I love this set, Fifth Avenue Floral. I am having so much fun playing with it. I tried the Color Throwdown challenge again. I loved these colors. These would be great colors for a masculine card, but I didn't go that way. I took the idea for this card from Corene Brown. I saw it on Splitcoast Stampers and I needed to copy most of it. I changed very few things. I love the way the ribbon goes down the side and I added two silver brads for some bling. I hope you enjoying looking.

Post-It Note Holder

I saw this project on the Paper Pleasing Ideas blog. I have see many different ways to cover a post-it notepad but I loved this one that allows a pen to be attached. I used To the Nines Specialty DSP paper and my new favorite stamp set, Fifth Avenue Floral. This would make a quick and easy gift for someone. It did not take long at all to make and the blog had wonderful, easy to follow and step by step directions. I would love to see what you come up with . Please e-mail me a picture if you try this project.

Embossed Manhattan Flower

This is a get well card I made for my grandma who just had shoulder surgery. She loves flowers and so I used the Manhattan Flower Textured Impressions Die for the Big Shot. I embossed it onto Vellum Cardstock and stamped little flowers in Versamark on the Not Quite Navy Cardstock behind it. I used silver brads to attach it to my card. On the edge I used the Scallop Edge Punch and then layered another piece of Vellum Cardstock behind it. Hopefully this will brighten my grandma's day when she receives it in the mail.

Mojo Monday #82

I had fun with this week's Mojo Monday Card sketch. My friend and my sister are both having babies so I had baby on the brain making this card. I love the Pretty in Pink and Certainly Celery together. I used the Stampin' Up! Backgrounds 1 Texture Plates (Big Shot Machine) to add a little something to the Certainly Celery background. I love the little addition of the button from Button Latte along with the Pretty in Pink striped grosgrain ribbon. I truly enjoyed the simplicity of the sketch this week. I can't wait to see what they have in store for us next week.

Chocolate 4x4 Envelope Card

I have so much fun looking at other blogs for inspiration. I saw this idea on Patty's blog and immediately knew I had to try it. You use a standard 4x4 card back. Then you use a 3x3 envelope and adhere a 3 3/4" square to the flap. That is the part you open. I added a small 3x3 card to fit in the envelope to write a note on. You can also use this for gift cards. I used the Wide Oval punch and then punched 2 Scallop Circle pieces to layer behind to make a larger oval scallop around the sentiment. I then used a medium envelope to cut down and make it to fit this card. See directions here.

Top Note Inspiration

I was inspired to do this card by another card I saw on Kim's Blog. However, I ended up changing it as I went along. I was going to make the floral and sentiment piece a bookmark to go into the Top Note Die pocket. I loved it so much though and decided to leave it out as decoration. I really love how this turned out. Just goes to show you that you may not end up with what you expected. Creativity at its best.

New Take on Upsy Daisy

I wanted to use my To the Nines DSP again so I came up with this idea. I cut 4 squares and layered them onto Sahara Sand Cardstock. I stamped the daisies in Sahara Sand and then in Always Artichoke to make it look more two-toned. Add some Metallic eyelets and the Ticket Corner Punch and that finished it off for me.
