Christmas Patchwork

This was another card we made at the Christmas in July Card Class this past week. I love this patchwork idea. Cut a piece of scrap paper to cover the Top Note Die for the Big Shot. Punch out squares of DSP. Cover your scrap with the Anywhere Glue Stick and attach the squares flush to each other. Put it through the Big Shot and layer with another color. Using the fine tip of your Stampin' Write Marker, make x's along all seams to make it look like you sewed it on the computer. Add a sentiment and your card is complete.

Inspiration Challenge #54

Here is this week's UDI (Utah Divas International) Inspiration Challenge. I love this picture of the cake and I decided to take colors and birthday theme and run with it. I used Circle Circus and On Your Birthday stamp sets. I took a scrap piece of paper and covered up a portion of the card and then stamped my circles. I put a thin piece of Basic Black card stock to cover up the line left between the stamped images and the white card stock and then added the riboon over top of that.

A White House Christmas

My husband calls this the White House Christmas card because he said it reminds him of their annual ornaments. For this card I used Real Red and Night of Navy. Rock 'n Roll Razzle Dazzle

Playing with Razzle Dazzle again. I used the Rock 'n roll technique for this card. I stamped my image into Crushed Curry and then rolled the edges around in the Dusty Durango and then stamped. To do the ribbon, I took the Dusty Durango Polka Dot ribbon and just wrapped it around my card. I then cut a small piece of Crushed Curry and tied a knot. I love the effect it makes with the two ribbons.

Winter Post at the Beach

Every year on our family beach trip, my mom, sister and I make our Christmas cards. This way, we stamp together and have our Christmas cards done in plenty of time for the holidays. I keep my cards very simple because we send a lot of cards out each year. This is the card for Christmas 2009. On the inside I will be adding our family picture as well as our update letter. I love the vintage look of the Winter Post Stamp Set.

I took a different approach this week and was inspired by the thought of the waterfall. I decided to make a waterfall card. It is really a very simple card to make but makes a BIG Wow! Matted Picture

I had this picture of my kids taped to the wall in front of my stamping space (as you can see my daughter looks very happy). As I was playing with the Razzle Dazzle Stamp Set, I decided I wanted to make the picture prettier. I matted the picture on Mellow Moss and then on an 8 1/2"x11" piece of Chocolate Chip. I used my Lovely Letters Alphabet "M" and then stamped the memories definition from Define your Life on the bottom left corner in Chocolate chip. I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up all my images. Then, to finish it off, I used the Razzle Dazzle stamp in Chocolate Chip and added it to the last three corners. At Wal-Mart I found the 8 1/2"x11" Diploma Frame which I love! It has the open glass around the picture so you can see the wall color behind it. Not my kids have a special place in my stamp room. Now my husband wants to know where his picture is.

My Stampin' Space

I have my own small space downstairs, but it is ALL mine!! I mentioned to my husband that if I reach my lofty Stampin' Up! goals this next year I think I need to convert the whole room downstairs into my stampin' space. He just gave me a look and started to laugh. I am not giving up. My customers keep telling him too. With more than 6 or 7 downstairs, it gets a little crowded. It is a good thing we all get along so well.

We have now decided to make the other side a "classroom" space and we will be starting on it the beginning of August. I will post again when it is all finished.

I love looking at how other people organize their space so I thought I would share some pictures of my space with you. It is still not exactly as I want it, but for all of you that craft, it never is. It is a constant work in progress.

Notepad Covers and Pens

Okay, Clubs for this month are now over and I can show our projects. With the new catalog unveiling, what else do you need but a matching pen and notepad cover. You have to have something to write all the stamps you NEED in. We used new In Colors to complete our projects. The ladies all had a great time and I think their notepads will get a lot of use.

I bought generic pens at Wal-Mart (RSVP pen wanta- be). If you cut a small piece of DSP you can wrap it tightly around the ink of the pen and slide it inside and attach the screw top. This allows you to have a matching pen and pad set.

Movers and Shapers

At our group meeting we made this wonderful box! Catherine Harwood (another demonstrator) was visiting the area and did this box with us as our make and take. We used the Movers and Shakers die for the Big Shot. It is so versatile. I also learned that when you punch out the inside shape, it layers behind the matching punch as you see in the heart on the front of the box. To add a little more we used a textured plate for the Big Shot. We then added then scored the top and added a box so it ended up being a larger "matchbox". We used Lavender Lace and Elegant Eggplant for the colors.
