Hangin' in San Antonio with my "Gnomies"

Yes, you are seeing this correctly. This is a picture of Ty Pennington from 17 stories up off our hotel balcony. They were taping Extreme Home Makeover on the River Walk one night. We also got to hear Lee Greenwood sing God Bless the USA as well. We were up on the balcony enjoying the best seat in the house and singing along with him. What a great memory.

Window Sheet Card

I made this card using our window sheets. I stamped the image from Bordering on Romance in Stazon Black ink. Then I used my re-inkers and mixed the colors with Crystal Effects and colored my image in using a toothpick of all things. Let it dry and this is what you end up with. Merry Christmas Big Shot Style

Here the card highlights a special use of the embossing folders. You brayer on your embossing folder with any color you choose then run it through the Big Shot. This is what you come out with. It is a beautiful effect.

This is an ornament we made in my ornament class. This was the "vintage" ornament. It took the longest to make but it is beautiful using our Shimmer Gold card stock and Wood sheets.

Elegant Christmas

This was a simple but elegant Christmas card we made in my clubs this month. The bottom design is stamped on card stock vellum and then flipped over so the stamped side is down. It makes for a very soft look. We used Bravo Burgundy and Basic Gray.

Paper Ball Ornament

Another ornament we did at my ornament class. Get a clear ornament ball. Cut strips of Designer Series Paper into 12" x 1/2" pieces. Roll the paper around a pen or pencil and pop it in the ball. Fill it up as little or as much as you want. Add a bow to decorate and twine to hang and you are done. I think this was one of the favorite ornaments of those in attendance.

Teacher Gift

From the beginning to the end you see the gift I made for Lorin's teacher. I started with a cute apple dish that I found that was very inexpensive. Then I bought 2 personalized stamps. One that said "a note from" and the other the teacher's name. I made some note cards and some thank you cards and wrapped it all up in the apple dish. I am so excited with how it turned out and I hope her teacher loved it.

Christmas Party Swap Card

Okay, you are seeing this a lot. Not all original ideas. I got the idea from this card from Becky Roberts who had made an adorable card with our snowmen. This is a swap card I made for our Christmas Party. I was trying to think Spring. Hard to do when it is freezing outside. This makes a beautiful card or you can add a pocket inside and have yourself another gift card holder.

Paper Ornament

This is an ornament that we made at my ornament class earlier this month. This looks so difficult to make but it is EASY and makes a BIG WOW!

Directions:
Cut 5 pieces of card stock 3"x3"
Fold in half and in half again. Turn it over and fold 1 diagonal.
Flip it back over and it should fold into the shape on the bottom picture.
Stamp however you want
Using Tombow multipurpose glue, glue all five pieces closed on top of each other.
Take 2 pieces of 1 1/2"x1 1/2" and add to each side gluing the ribbon in between.
Add a bead and tie a knot.

When you slide the bead open you can flip your pieces open and it makes a beautiful ornament!

Again I was inspired by another talented demonstrator who made this gift card holder. I added my lolly flair and LOVE it! I will be using this a wrapping this year. We made this at my November group meeting. The Top Note die is a perfect and easy way to "wrap" those gift cards.

Doily Snowflakes

These are the cards I made for my top 3 in sales for the month of November. I was inspired by another demonstrator and copied a lot of it. I changed colors and the main stamp. I love how it turned out. This is the first time I used my White Stazon pad. I like the result. I used my Big Shot to get my snowflakes. The main card is Shimmer Silver card stock. Then had to add some bling with a clear rhinestone brad in the middle.

Cookie Packaging

I got these boxes off the clearance rack and used them this year to package cookies for my husband's colleagues. I made a simple tag and they all got delivered. One of my favorite things to do at this time of the year is bake. Cookies galore. Now if I can just not eat all of them:)

Mini Milk Carton in a Box

This was a project we did at my group meeting a while back. I love the mini milk carton and we just added a little box to dress it up a little. Don't you LOVE the mini clothespins? So cute!

TIP: Dimensions for the box are 3 1/4" x 3 1/4" scored at 1/2" on all four sides. The handle in the back measures 1 3/4" x 4".

Falcon's Rest: A Special Trip

My upline, Rene, just this past year started a Top 4 (because of group size) for the year based on sales, recruiting, etc. through out the year. I was fortunate enough to be number 1 in our group this year. Rene took us on a special trip and treated us. We went to a historic mansion, Falcon's Rest and had a wonderful tour. Then Rene treated us to a fabulous lunch at the mansion with their famous pink lemonade (it was delicious!). It was a wonderful trip and so much fun! Thanks Rene!

Winter Post Accordion Fold

Here is a monochromatic card that we made in club this month. You take a piece of 12x5 1/2" card stock and score it at 1", 2", 4", 6" and 9". Accordion fold it and decorate it to your liking. I love how this card is different but still fits in our medium envelopes.

This is the project we did at Big Shot club last night. I originally saw this idea from Connie Stewart's blog. She is a friend and fellow demonstrator. We used roof flashing and embossing folders. Simply Scored Class: Project 4

We had to make a simple box with our Simply Scored as well. The bottom is measured at 9"x9" and scored every 3". The lid is 5 1/8"x5 1/8" and scored at 1" all the way around. We added a peek-a-boo window so you can see the treats inside.

Simply Scored Class: Project 3

We HAD to make a lollie you know. Well, I turned it into a Christmas ornament. To make the lollie I cut 2 1"x11" pieces of Garden Green card stock. We scored on the Simply Score every 1/2" and then accordion folded them and attached them together. Added some Shimmer Gold card stock, rhinestone, and some Log Cabin Smooch Spritz.

Simply Scored Class: Project 2

We made this diamond pattern with our Simply Scored by lining up the corner at the 6" mark and the diagonal lines that are on your Simply Scored. Have you noticed them? Go check it out. It makes it so easy to do patterns like this.

Simply Scored Class: Project 1

I held a Simply Scored class last week and the next few days will show the projects we did. Everyone brought their Simply Scored with them and learned a few ways to use it. First we did this fancy fold card. It is so simple and I was inspired by multiple demonstrators who made a card similar to this one.

TIP: Card Stock is 5 1/2 x 12" : score at 1", 2", 4", 6" and 9" accordion fold and make it your own.
These measurements came from Janella Sibert Clough , a fellow demonstrator.

Making Stampin' Up! Cookies

The kids and I LOVED making cookies with the Sweet Pressed cookie stamps. The shortbread recipe is delicious and it was a memorable success! The kids could not believe they could stamp on cookies.

Ceramic Christmas Ornaments

Here are my ornaments that I did this year. I bought plain ceramic ornaments at the craft store. I painted them with ceramic paint and then I added Dazzling Diamonds glitter on the snowflake and embossed my images on the rest. I sealed with acrylic sealer and then added my ribbon. Easy but makes a great gift for anyone.

Christmas Countdown

I made this advent countdown and I LOVE it. This would make a great gift for someone and it really did not take too long to make but no one would ever know that by looking at it. I found the tin sign at a craft store and grabbed it. I used the 25 & Counting stamp set out of the Holiday Mini Catalog which made this a breeze.

My Crazy Life

I have not fallen off the planet. I have just been consumed with my family this past week so I thought I would share. Last week my daughter got strep and was down and out. I was a crazy mom running around trying to air out the house and do every piece of laundry in hopes that no one else would get sick. It worked because she is now well and no one else got sick.

That could not be it though. On Monday the kids were playing football and Lorin tripped over her brother who had slipped. Her two front teeth hit the back of his head. His head is fine but her teeth were NOT. Sticking out in funny angles and bleeding. That took us to an emergency trip to the dentist who said all was well, luckily we are still talking baby teeth. He said they would fall out on their own soon.

Next, Tuesday ,we went to an already scheduled dentist appointment where Lorin needed a filling. This was her first one and she did GREAT! No problems. HOWEVER: The dentist said the tooth sticking out at all angles needed to come out. It was getting abscessed and it was inflamed. She was already numb so I said go for it. She had been in pain, not wanting to eat or drink and just miserable. Soooooooo, the tooth came out. Our dentist did an amazing job! She had no idea it was even out. He was just wiggling it just to see and it just happened to come out. That is the story we are sticking with.

Today, she woke up and the tooth fairy had been extra special to her and brought her a little extra gift as well for her trauma:) She wrote a note asking for something special. She is feeling great, closing her mouth, eating and drinking and talking normally. Maybe things can start getting back to normal around here?

Mom and Me Fundraiser

I did a fundraiser for our local Children's Museum. My upline and friend, Rene, and I did these little bags. The girls would come to our table, pick out their fabric of choice (Stampin' Up! fabric of course) and told us their initial. They would crank it through the Big Shot and then we ironed it on their bag. This project went super fast and the girls loved it. They were talking about what they were going to put in them.

TIP: Before we cut out the size squares we needed we put the iron on transfer on. This made it really easy when we cut the letter out.

Hello Doily meets Christmas

Cherry Cobbler embossing powder. Can you just say oh la la? I embossed the Hello Doily stamp. Then I colored in my pine cone stamp from Pines and Poinsettias and layered with punches in the center of the doily. Cherry Cobbler seam binding rounds it out.

Guest Stamper: Halloween is Coming

This was made by my friend and fellow demonstrator, Ami. This is a simple sour cream container using one
5 1/2" x 4 1/4" piece of card stock or Designer Series Paper. She decorated it with grosgrain ribbon and the Batty for You stamp set. She colored the stamp using markers. The best part is that she filled it with candy corn!

Parkinson's Walk in Washington D.C.

A year ago one of my uncles was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. This year some family and friends have made a team to walk in the Moving Day Walk for Parkinson's on October 16th in Washington D.C. They are raising money for a great cause and I volunteered to do the thank you notes for everyone who was kind enough to give a little. This is now the ribbon color for Parkinson's. It is so cheerful. I made these cards very simple since I will be making a lot of them. I used Stampin' Ups! ready made note card with envelope set (comes with 20 in a set) and stamped my images in Tempting Turquoise.

This is a picture of me and three of my Creative Escape Artist Girls. We got shirts made with our logo and we wanted to show them off.

Here are 9 out of our 11 with Shelli! Something said was obviously very funny seeing as I am catching LOTS of flies. Hopefully someone else in our group got a better picture.

Happy Birthday with a Fold

Wedding Invitation Swap

This is a wedding invitation I made for a wedding invitation swap. I used Calypso Coral and Blushing Bride. I realized later that I did not get a picture of the inside but it is a layer of Blushing Bride with invitation on top. The band is a belly band that just slides off. I used these colors because my brother is getting married next summer and he and his bride to be have picked these colors for their wedding. We will be making their wedding invitations and this will also be a sample to show them. I can't wait to receive my swap back so I can share them with you.

Mini Milk Carton with a Twist

I needed little favors for an up coming workshop and I saw the Mini Milk Carton die and decided to make a favor box! This is actually original! I don't do that very often but I have not seen it done anywhere. I cut the card stock and then wheeled it with one of my jumbo wheels. I glued one side, added candy and then just folded the other side in and added ribbon to close it. This way, once you take the ribbon off, one side will open.

Wheeled Birthday

This is a card that I was thinking of doing at a workshop but I changed my mind. It is a wheeled birthday card. I used Chocolate Chip and Calypso Coral. I colored in some of the wheel with my Calypso Coral marker. I also used my Art Air gun to splatter some Chocolate Chip on the top of the card.

July Scrapbooking Club

What a Birthday!

I celebrated my birthday on Saturday and what a day it was! We had our first annual family picnic and awards. It was a great few hours. I got to visit with other demonstrators in our group, eat great food and receive awards. not only did Rene give all of us some gifts for being there and door prizes, of course but she gave out yearly awards. I received a key charm for my sales this past year, a crown charm for my recruiting this past year and the square simply adorned charm with the diamond for being #1 demonstrator of the year in our group!! I am so excited! I also received this beautiful necklace from my upline as an additional gift for being demo of the year. The 4 of us will get to join Rene on a special day trip in September as an additional treat. I will make sure I share that with you as well. Needless to say it was a great birthday!!

The NEW In Colors

My friend and fellow demonstrator, Ami made this beautiful box with matching 3x3 cards in all the new In Colors for me. The doily stamps are embossed with white and it really pops off the page.
