Masculine Dad

I joined a masculine swap recently and this is the card I came up with. My dad is Mr. Handyman and so I always have a use for Totally Tool. I used the Texture Plates Kit # 4 for the background but I added a little detail to make it look more like wood. I used my brayer and Chocolate Chip ink on the texture plate before running it through the Big Shot. I will be saving this for my Dad's birthday in June.

Don't Forget: that you only have 2 more days to take advantage of Sale-a-Bration! Spend $50 and choose from over 80 stamp sets FREE (1 for every $50 you spend)!

Black and White

This month our group was issued a challenge to come up with a black and white card or a monochromatic card. This is what I decided to do for black and white. Big Shot Lunch Bag

I made this lunch bag for my daughter to take to school. I found insulated batting to quilt in between the squares. I am so excited with how it turned out! It is using the Scallop square die which makes it so easy to cut out. It went so quickly. I also made a fabric flower embellishment with the Flower Folds die.

Big Shot Quilted Flower Accent

Today is the last day for the fabric swap that I have been sharing. This was my project for the Big Shot fabric swap and I was so proud because I am not a sewer, but I did it easily. This could be added to a headband, hairband, gift, vase, bag, etc. After you sew the two flowers together with the batting in the middle you can layer the flowers and use the Crop-a-Dile to punch your hole in the middle to add your ribbon.

UDI Daisy Challenge

I have been seeing this beautiful technique done and had to try it myself to make these flowers. When I saw the UDI inspiration challenge I knew just what to do! I love how this turned out! I put sticky strip on a small piece of Whisper White scrap paper and punched it out with my 1 3/4" circle punch. Then I took some strips of paper and used my Eyelet border punch to decorate the edges. I put them through the crimper a few times and bunched them up to make the paper very pliable. I then started from the outside of the circle and pleated it together. I added a Summer Sun corduroy button in the middle for color. I used my Big Shot and the Little Leaves die in Old Olive for the leaves. I layered everything on Basic Black and then on to Creamy Caramel. Be sure to check out what the other UDI team members have come up with this week.

Mother's Day in Pastels

Here is a Mother's Day card I enjoy making using the Poppin' Pastel technique. To do this technique you need a Versamark pad or marker and Stampin' Pastels. You stamp your image with the Versamark and then use sponge daubers, rub it in the color pastel you want and rub over your image. It will give you this very beautiful and soft look.

Club Easter Card

This was our other club project we did this month. We used Chocolate Bunny and Vintage Labels stamp sets. This card ends up being 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" in size. I started with a 12" x 4 1/4". I scored at 5" and then folded it up and scored at 5 1/2". This makes it the correct size and gives you a large enough flap that we kept closed with our Wide Oval Punch and a pop up glue dot.
