A New Camera!- I just have to wait for it

Well, we are getting a new camera!  Yeah!  It is smaller and quicker and I can't wait for it to come.
However, we ordered it online so it won't be here until the beginning of next week.  I am sorry I won't have daily posts for a few days.  Know that I will be stamping up a storm so I can post post post when that camera gets here.  I will have everything ready for you to see.  Thanks for sticking with me during this frustrating time.  Be sure to keep checking back.

Technical Difficulty

Well, I was going to take a picture of a card my sister made for my son's birthday but when I took out the camera it would not work for me.  My husband and I are trying to fix it so if we can get it to work, I will post later today.  Otherwise, know that I am working on it.  Check back soon.

6x6 Baby Gift Scrapbook

These are some pictures of a 6x6 scrapbook I made my friend for a shower gift. On the front of the Mellow Moss Linen Ring album I tied some Rose Red 1" stitched grosgrain ribbon and covered a chipboard "S" for Sierra with Raspberry Tart DSP and adhered it to the front with very strong adhesive. I used Raspberry Tart DSP, Rose Red and Old Olive on the inside. I used the template I have for 6x6 album that uses very little paper. It all depends on how you cut it. These are just a few of the pages. It had 10 layouts when completed.

Happy Father's Day Early!

Well, Father's Day is officially less than a month away so I thought I would share a card that one of my customers, Kristin, came up with. She tri-folded a regular size card (5 1/2 x 4 1/4). She added Whisper White to the inside and added a tie with our Chocolate Chip 1" striped ribbon. She used the Big Shot, her new toy, and textured the Not Quite Navy on the shirt. She used the Buttons #5 die to cut the buttons on her Big Shot. Kristin folded the top corners down and sponged around the edge in Chocolate Chip to make it stand out a little bit. This is a beautiful card. Please comment so she can see that her work is appreciated! Thanks for letting me share Kristin!

Routines 12x12 Layout

I am sorry the pictures here are not the greatest, but I figure you can at least get the idea. I did a workshop this past week and the hostess wanted to do a 6x6 page as one of her projects. Well, I always need to make sure I do a page that I can use in my own scrapbooking so we did the 6x6 page that is added to the 12x12 on the top picture on the left page. I wanted to show how you could start with a 6x6 page and turn it into an 8 1/2"x11 page and then into a 12x12 layout. I am excited on how it turned out.

Little Girl Onesie Card

This was a card I made for my friend having her baby. I have seen these around and have never made one of my own. I love the look of the onesie. I used circle punches for the leg and neck holes. The rounded scallops were done using the scallop circle punch and the arm scallops using the scallop edge punch. I started with a regular size card and cut out the shape and then covered with Rose Red DSP. I added three vintage brads on the bottom because you have to have snaps!

Gift Card Holders

In addition to my Stampin' Up! "job", I am the Hospitality Coordinator for our local MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) group. It is the end of the year and the Steering team wanted to give something special to all our moms. Our theme this year was Adventures in Mothering. If you are a mom, you know how crazy life can get. I made these quick and simple gift card holders to hold a Starbucks gift card. What better way to relax but to sit back and have a cup of coffee, or in my case a cup of hot chocolate.

To make these, cut your cardstock at 3 1/2" x 5 1/4" and then score at 2 1/2". Use your slot punch to put a slot in the bottom to hold your cardstock together. Stick your gift card with a little bit of adhesive and add a stamped image to the front. I chose a very simple design because I was making a lot of these but you can make them as elaborate as you want.

I used paper from the Bold Bright colors and stamped the image with the coordinating color. I used the Oval All stamp set and the Scallop Oval Punch as well as the slot punch to complete these projects.

Color Throwdown #43

When I saw the colors this week I knew I had to do something floral. This is what I came up with the for the color throwdown challenge. I used markers to color in the flowers after stamping them in Basic Black. I used my neglected Stamp-a-ma-jig on my words to stack them on top of each other. I realize I need to use the Stamp-a-ma-jig more often because it is so easy and fun to use.

Mojo Monday #87

I have not had time lately to play with the Mojo Monday sketches but I was missing it. Here is my take on this week's Mojo Monday sketch. I wanted to take out a set I have not used in a while, Lovely as a Tree. I also played a little with my circle cutter. I still need to play some more. Oh, well, I guess that means back to the stamping room. Darn!! I colored the tree with the Chocolate Chip and Always Artichoke markers. I added the Bordering Blue to the picture by sponging it around the top of the tree. The Always Artichoke cardstock I used is the textured cardstock. I then added some brads to bring in another punch of color.

Color Throwdown #42

I am finally playing again! I have been so busy with other responsibilities that I have not been able to find time to do the color throwdown challenge. I loved the colors this week and I did most of my card without stamps. The sentiment is the only stamped image and it is stamped in Basic Black. I used my wonderful Big Shot machine for the rest of the card. After I ran the background through the Big Shot to texture the background, I pierced the paper on the design. I saw this in another card and thought it was a great idea to try. I really like how it turned out. To make the flowers, I used the Stampin' Up! Birds and Blooms sizzlits 4-pack.

Baby Thank-you

One of my good friends is having a little girl in July. We had a shower for her recently and I made these thank you cards for her to send out. I did use the hand print from a retired set (my favorite Stampin' Up! baby set yet!). The rest of the card is using current products. I am so pleased with how these turned out. I embossed the background of the card with the textured plates for the Big Shot Machine. I used Raspberry Tart DSP with Rose Red and Old Olive cardstock to finish out the card.

Black Embossed Upsy Daisy

Here is another card I made when I was playing with my heat embossing. I used Versamark to stamp my image from Upsy Daisy. Then I sprinkled on Black embossing powder and heated it up. I layered it on Basic Black cardstock and used Cameo Coral and Raspberry Tart DSP. The Scallop Oval punch and the Scallop Edge punch were used in Basic Black as well. I used Regal Rose grosgrain ribbon to add an embellishment. Overall, this is a very easy and quick card to make and you can add any sentiment to fit your needs.

Brayered Roses- Thanks so Much

These are more of the beautiful brayered roses cards. I love this technique from Patty's blog. You can see the links and directions here. It is beautiful and so easy but it makes such a statement. These are cards I made for my daughter's Mom's Day Out program to thank all the teachers and coordinator. I used Summer Sun for the first layer of color and Regal Rose for the second brayered color. The leaves are from the Petal Pizzazz stamp set and I stamped them in Green Galore. I layered everything onto Summer Sun cardstock. My clubs better not look too closely because this could very well be an upcoming project. (hint, hint)

Cameo Coral Friends 24-7

Last night I was out with some wonderful women who are starting a 12 month stamp club with me. I had so much fun! This was our first month and we did business and a card. This is the card we made using the Versamark stamp set and two markers. It is hard to tell, but he large Chocolate Chip cardstock is layered on Confetti White. Markers are a great way to color your stamps without having to own all the stamp pads. We colored the bird with Cameo Coral and the twig with Chocolate Chip. The sentiment is from the Oval All stamp set and it was colored with the Chocolate Chip marker. We used the Versamark pad to stamp onto the Chocolate Chip paper so it created a watermark. Raspberry Tart DSP and 5/8" grosgrain ribbon completed our project. Dimensionals were used to raise the square cardstock that the bird is stamped on. This made that the focus of the card.

Celebrate 3x3 card

My daughter's friend had a birthday party last weekend and I made this card for the birthday girl. Now all I need are all the accessories stamps that go with the All in the Family stamp set. I loved using this set. I water colored with the Aqua Painters and the stamp pads. I cut a 3x3 square of cardstock and then 2 3/4" x 5 1/2" piece of Whisper White to fold and layer to make the card. Think of making little note cards with "thank you" with this stamp set. Quick, easy and simple.

Embossed Wedding Card

I have 2 friends getting married within 2 weeks of each other so I went ahead and made their wedding cards. My husband and I got married almost 9 years ago and decided that even though it is not personal, money is a great gift to receive. Then you can spend it however you want. I used Basic Gray and the Manhattan Impressions Die for this card. On the inside I used the Scallop Envelope Die and adhered it together. I then took the Scallop Oval punch and punched out the top of the envelope so I could slide the money into the top. I wanted to make sure they were going to see it. I added some retired organdy ribbon and used the Oval All stamp set for the sentiment. Overall, I love how it turned out. I am loving the Basic Gray. Believe it or not, I have not used it before. I will be using it now.
