UDI Inspiration Challenge #119

For the UDI inspiration challenge this week we got this great Norman Rockwell picture.  I ran with the jack-o-lantern and made Halloween treats for each of my kid's classes.  I used Elegant Eggplant and ran it through the Big Shot using the Top Note die.  Then I used the Spider web embossing folder and ran them back through.  I folded them in half and stapled them around a small Hershey bar.  I stamped my jack-o-lantern and attached with a glue dot to cover the staple.  I love how they turned out and I hope the kids like them before they tear them open.  Be sure to check out what the other talented UDI team members came up with this week.

Movers and Shapers Meet Hot Cocoa

I was able to play in my stamp room yesterday and happened to see this challenge site, Hand Stamped Sentiments.  I saw the challenge for the week and had to be included!  The Challenge:  take a card and then make something else 3-D that coordinates.  I made a card that just makes it seem like winter is upon us (not ready yet) and then I made a little pouch using my Movers and Shapers die and added hot cocoa mix and marshmallows.  Who doesn't love hot chocolate when they are cold?  I love the Tags til Christmas set and I am loving playing with Stampin' Up's new fabric!!

Bugs and Kisses

I have been wanting to spend some time on some sketch challenges and today was the day!  I had so much fun making this card for the Stamping 411 challenge.  My goal was to use a set or two that have been neglected so out came the bugs!  My son loves the cards I make but I am sure this will be one of his favorites.  He is 2 and one of his favorite things to do outside is play with bugs.  I feel so bad for the poor bugs because he is a little rough and most don't make it after he is done with them.  I am sure they see him and run the other direction.

Sweet Notes: Desk Set

I made these note cards and note card holder as hostess gifts. I love how these turned out and they are so easy to make the stationary cards using the Scallop Square die for the Big Shot.  These would make great teacher gifts at this time of the year.  I hope you enjoy them.

TIP to make these note card desk sets:

  • 1 piece of card stock measuring 5" x 7 1/4"
  • On the 5" side, score at 1/4" and 4 3/4"
  • On the 7 1/4" side score at 1/4", 4 3/4" and 5"
  • Snip each corner and glue together with Tombow Multipurpose adhesive glue
  • Add your embellishments to the front and add your cards to the inside

A New Look for my Little One

I thought I would share something new in our family this past week.  GLASSES!  Well, my son is almost 2 1/2 years old and now has glasses.  He looks like such a little man.  This is one thing we have been doing this past week.  Dr. appt., ordering new glasses, picking up new glasses, trying to keep new glasses on, and lots and lots of cleaning the new glasses.  He does not look too upset though, does he?

UDI Inspiration Challenge #118

For the UDI inspiration challenge we had this pirate ship this week.  When I think pirate ship, walking the plank and parrots come in mind.  I guess I think more of Peter Pan and Captain Hook.  This is the crazy twist that brought about this birthday card.  I used the Woodland Walk DSP and cut wood "planks".  I sponged them with Soft Suede and made nails with my Soft Suede marker.  I used my favorite tool, the Color Coach, to come up with my colors of Crumb Cake, Cajun Craze, and Marina Mist.  I used the Aviary and On Your Birthday stamp set to finish it off.  I hope you enjoy it.  Make sure you check out what the other talented UDI team members came up with this week.

Saying Thanks with Ribbon

Another gift idea for someone is a ribbon jar.  I used a mushroom jar (cleaned out of course) and added large scraps of ribbon of the same colors.  I decorated it with our new awesome fabric and a thank you tag.  After the ribbon is used it can be used to re-gift something or add another embellishment to add to your work table.

Hostess Gifts

I made a few of these card sets for some hostesses I have holding private classes in the near future.  I love how they turned out!  I used a hostess level 2 stamp set that you can earn by hosting your own private class that reaches at least $300 in sales!  I used Cajun Craze and Very Vanilla.  My Color Coach is my best friend that helped me pick out just the right colors: Old Olive, Cajun Craze, and Baja Breeze.  I made a little pouch our of our 6x8" cello bags and added some ribbon.

Just Believe, Just for you

This is one of the cards I will probably do at my private classes in October and November.  I saw the idea from my upline who saw it somewhere else.  I think it probably changes each time but I love the colors of Marina Mist, Early Espresso and Crumb Cake together.  If you would like to get a few friends together to make this card and have a great time please contact me so we can make that happen.

UDI Inspiration Challenge #117

I had a lot of fun this week on the UDI inspiration challenge.  This one came to me as I went to sleep one night.  I took a 12x12 sheet of Chocolate Chip card stock and scored it at 4" and 8" on both sides.  Then I scored each corner box in the middle at a diagonal.  It folds up very neatly and would make a great gift for someone to add pictures to it of a party.  You can make it appropriate for any occasion depending on stamps and colors you choose to use.  I made the lid out of Old Olive and added some Chocolate Chip 5/8" grosgrain ribbon.  I was so excited to use my Brights collection of DSP as well as my Celebrations Quick Accents.  It came together really quickly.  Using my Big Shot I cut out the H and B with my Serif Essentials alphabet dies. I added a little more color by adding a button with a bow tied using the linen thread and attached with a glue dot.  I hope this inspires you to come up with a great project.  I would love to see what you come up with.  Be sure to check out what the other talented UDI team members came up with this week.

A Glimmer of Winter

This is a great way to use the top note die for the Big Shot and the mini lunch sacks in the Holiday Mini catalog.  They are the perfect size to make this great and simple gift bag.  For this project I used Baja Breeze and Basic Grey.  To add a "glimmer" I used our Two Way glue pen and our Dazzling Diamond glitter.  If you don't have this glitter you NEED it!  It adds a quick sparkle or shimmer to any project.

Trick or Treat Decor

I know you have probably seen these around.  This was a project shown to us at convention this year.  I love using our Decor line with our great products to decorate your home.  It was so easy to decorate these pumpkins and what a great gift to give someone.  I used the Halloween decor from the Holiday Mini Catalog and the black rhinestones.

UDI Inspiration Challenge #116

The UDI inspiration challenge stumped me this week and I am still not 100% happy with my project.  I decided to stick with the hot air balloon and I used the brights buttons.  I took this idea of the buttons from an awesome Christmas swap I got from Tiffany Bauer at the Founder's Circle trip.  I used the Sweet Centers stamp set and used Daffodil Delight and Tempting Turquoise to add some color.  I hope you enjoy.  Be sure to check out what the other UDI team members came up with this week.
